Equity and Empowerment participated in the Brussels Conference VIII under the theme “Supporting the Future of Syria and the Region,” represented by Executive Director Hiba Ezzideen.
The conference served as a platform for the voices of Syrians both within Syria and in refugee-hosting countries, emphasizing the need for a safe and sustainable solution in line with UN Resolution 2254.
The event included a dedicated day for dialogue with Syrian civil society, along with various side events and a cultural program. Numerous side events were organized by civil society organizations, participating countries, and international organizations.
Equity and Empowerment launched a side event during the conference to present and discuss the research it prepared in collaboration with the Arab Reform Initiative, with support from the European Union. The research is titled: “Alternative Roles for Syrian Women’s Political Participation at the Local Level.”
